Welcome to Echo Mound Chesapeakes
In our quest to find the perfect waterfowl hunting and family companion, we decided on the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Since purchasing our first Chessie, we have become very attached and dedicated to the breed. We now have four chessies living with us and they are very much apart of our family. Being that hunting season is only a short time each year, we decided to get involved with other activities to spend time with our dogs. Confirmation shows and hunt tests have become a couple of our favorite past times. Along with hunt tests comes a lot of training, although we are not professional trainers, it has been a great way to spend time with our dogs. It is very rewarding to watch them learn new things, and to see how far we can take them on the hunt test scene on our own. It is hard to imagine what we would be doing if we weren’t spending time with our family and our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
We live in western Wisconsin on our former dairy farm that has been in the family for over one hundred years. There is a lot of access for a variety of different training settings and a lot of area to exercise our dogs. We spend a great deal of time making sure our chessies are well socialized, therefore they are very friendly to other dogs and people. That being said, we don’t think we've ever met an animal more loyal and loving to its owners and family than a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
If you have an interest in learning more about our dogs or the breed in general, please contact us.
Occasionally we will have puppies available or may know of someone who does. Please contact us if you are interested in a puppy from us.
